The latest personal branding tips from Kwame Kuadey
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to this week's edition of 3 Tips Friday, where I share my top personal branding tips. Feel free to forward this to friends who might find it valuable.
Tip #1: Why LinkedIn Newsletters Are Your Next Power Move
LinkedIn newsletters are a game-changing opportunity you can't afford to miss. Here's why: They achieve incredible engagement with 27-50% open rates, and in the first 24 hours alone, about 10% of your followers typically subscribe. Plus, 98% of the top 500 LinkedIn newsletters belong to individuals, not companies. This means you're missing out on direct access to your audience if you're not leveraging this tool. Each newsletter reaches subscribers via both email and LinkedIn notifications, dramatically amplifying your visibility.
For inspiration, check out my LinkedIn Newsletter on Personal Branding here. I launched this in January and currently have 2,790 subscribers and counting.
Tip #2: Craft a Newsletter That Captures Attention
Start with a compelling title and description that clearly communicates your unique value proposition. Your newsletter's success hinges on three key elements: a captivating profile image (300x300 pixels) that reflects your brand, an engaging cover image (1920x1080 pixels) that draws readers in, and a clear content mission that addresses your audience's specific needs. Remember, you can create up to 5 different newsletters, allowing you to target distinct segments of your audience with specialized content.
Tip #3: Launch Strategy That Converts
Don't wait for a massive following—even with 600 followers, you can build something meaningful. Focus on quality over quantity and be consistent with your schedule. The key is to craft slightly spicy subject lines that entice opens, deliver high-value content that addresses real pain points, and actively encourage engagement from your readers. Most importantly, maintain a consistent publishing schedule to build trust and improve open rates over time.
Quote I'm pondering
"If you can figure out a way to be humble and confident at the same time, you will find success" - Wei-Li Chong. This powerful insight from a guest speaker at my Johns Hopkins University entrepreneurship class resonates deeply. It reminds us that true leadership combines the confidence to challenge the status quo with the humility to remain open to new perspectives. Success comes from balancing conviction with curiosity, believing in your ideas while accepting that you don't have all the answers.
Something Interesting I learned this week
Start in November.
Start from nothing.
Start with fear.
Start breaking free.
Start being you.
Start now.
START.
There's profound wisdom in this simple message—don't wait for January or perfect conditions. Your journey begins exactly where you are, even with fear, even with nothing. The perfect time to start is right now.
As always, I'd love to hear your feedback! Which tip was most useful? What topics would you like to see covered in future editions? Let me know by replying to this email or reaching out on LinkedIn.
Have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend ahead!
Best regards,
